Last update: January 31, 1999
I was very pleased when, on January 14, 1999, I got some feedback from Bill
Gotzinger with the official state song, "Here we Have
Idaho", and the hope of more to come. This state song along with all
the other official state songs is available on
Coolidge 50.
There is no particular order to the songs listed below.
I welcome any and all suggestions
and especially corrections, as well as additional information on any
song listed below.
Songs of love for Idaho
- "Idaho" on Always Drink Upstream from the Herd (Pgd/Rounder 610360,
Release Date: 08/10/98) by Riders in the Sky
- "Idaho" on Go Slow Down (WEA/Warner Brothers 45455, Release Date:
10/12/93) by the BoDeans
- "Idaho" on Songs that Got us through WWII, Vol. 2
(WEA/Atlantic/Rhino 71718, Release Date:
07/19/94) by the various artists (I don't know who performs this)
- "Idaho" on 25th Anniversary Collection (WEA/Atlantic/Rhino 72998,
Release Date: 03/23/93) by The Four Seasons
- "Idaho Moon" on Songs Of The Sage (WEA/Warner Brothers 46497,

- "Idaho Rain" on The Ballads Of Madison County (WEA/Atlantic 82511,
Release Date: 07/23/93) by Robert James Waller
Honorable mention
- "WOLD" on Anthology of Harry Chapin (UK vinyl Elektra EKT 16/960413-1)
by Harry Chapin; although this song is not essentially about Idaho,
he does state, "Now I worked my way back home again to Boise, Idaho"!
- "Idaho" seems to be a song frequently played by jazz groups and big bands.
I know nothing more about this song, but this site is not dedicated to
instrumentals. If you know more, please share.
